3P25 Wines

Raising money for the Children’s Medical Research Institute

We are thrilled to release the new 3P25 wines. The 3P25 wine project is a joint project with Chris and Anna Pratt (my partner’s brother and sister-in-law) and me – Dale Wheeler of Wheeler Wines. The project not only celebrates their son Freddie's rare 3p25 chromosome deletion, but also aims to make a difference to other special kids’ lives right across Australia, raising money for Jeans for Genes Australia – Children’s Medical Research Institute.

For every bottle of 3P25 wine sold we are proud to donate $10 to Jeans for Genes cause. You can track our progress here and donate direct if you’d like at our fundraising page  here on the Jeans for Genes site. A big thank you also to New Digital Print for their support and donation of the labels for the project.

This year we have two wines! A new vintage of 3P25 Chardonnay and our first release of the 3P25 Rouge. The wines are available individually or in any combination with other Wheeler wines. Full details below.

3P25 Chardonnay 2020

The 3P25 2020 Chardonnay is made again from fruit coming off the Willowlake vineyard in Victoria’s Yarra Valley.

Quite possibly the best Chardonnay I have made to date (I really mean it), this release was 100% barrel fermented in near new French oak. Despite the bushfires elsewhere in Australia, vintage conditions were relatively cool resulting in an exceptionally elegant chardonnay with great freshness and finesse. Which in non-wine speak, means medium-weight chardonnay with fresh lemony citrus flavours and toasty oak characters sitting in the background. There’s plenty of acidity but it has a beautiful softness in the texture and should appeal to both lovers of chardonnay and white wine drinkers alike.

3P25 Rouge 2021

The 3P25 Rouge is a light bistro-style red, made from both premium Yarra Valley pinot noir and merlot. The Rouge is packed with delicious flavours of ripe raspberries and strawberries and has a soft dry finish. It’s ridiculously easy drinking and can be chilled if you’re somewhere pleasantly warm or is great room temp if you’re somewhere colder. This is a red, of broad appeal and is delicious solo or with lighter dishes that would typically pair well with pinot noir.

Thanks for your support,

Dale Wheeler (Winemaker), Chris, Anna and especially Freddie Pratt.
